Northwest A&F University | "Strategy" and "Quantity" in a Conservation-oriented Campus
From 2016 to 2017, in response to the national energy conservation and environmental protection policy and to build a green campus, Northwest A&F University completely dismantled coal-fired and gas-fired boilers, connected heating to the municipal centralized heating system, built and put into operation 14 heat exchange stations, and installed 23 sets of plate heat exchanger units, with a total heating power of 120.53MW. To address the issues of high energy consumption, unbalanced heating, and backward and monotonous control and operation and maintenance, since 2018, Northwest A&F University has upgraded the automatic control system of heat exchange stations, improved data upload and control functions, carried out information-based renovations of heat entrances in buildings, established an intelligent heating supervision platform, and built a centralized heating monitoring center to achieve time-of-use and zoned heating and intelligent balance measurement and control of pipelines. During the heating season of 2019, Northwest A&F University remotely transmitted real-time data through the Shanghai Kent heat and cold meter, and adjusted the opening and closing degree of the heating valve in a timely manner in combination with the temperature and the actual needs of energy-consuming buildings, achieving a reduction of 2.76 million yuan in energy-saving expenses, with significant benefits.
